APPROACH

Aligning community goals, appealing to donor motivations and working together to influence and impact charitable giving.

The average American family donates approximately 3.4% of its discretionary income to charity each year (Giving USA Foundation, 2016). There are over one million charitable organizations in the United States alone (The Urban Institute). On average, high net worth donors gave over $25,000 to charity in 2015. By comparison, general population households gave approximately $2,520 on average (The 2016 U.S. Trust Study of High Net Worth Philanthropy conducted in partnership with the Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy). In the U.S., it costs over $50 billion each year to raise roughly $300 billion (National Philanthropic Trust, 2012).

Understanding your prospects and constituents through strategic research and prospect management allows you to identify and grow prospect pipelines and to tailor messages to efficiently encourage charitable giving.

Collaboratively we will assess your prospect research needs. Perhaps you need background intelligence on specific individual or corporate / foundation donors. Strategic prospect research weaves the story of the individual prospect by learning about their background, wealth indicators, interests and motivations for giving…understanding where they are in their lifecycle…learning relationship connections … all these pieces allow fundraisers to evaluate a donor’s capacity and affinity before making an authentic ask.

Perhaps you need a creative solution, something out of the box, reading your internal data and learning its story. Through extraction we can learn about your constituents, your stakeholders: who, what, where, why and use the analysis to inform how: how to get them to give and give more consistently.

Partnering together, in-person or virtually, we can customize your donor strategy based on a variety of prospect research services to meet and exceed your organizational needs.
